Laura Pfohl

CEO

Laura Pfohl is the founder of Sopris Systems and was one of the original pioneers to work with AX in the US, a decade before Microsoft acquired the platform from Damgaard. She is highly regarded throughout the world for her deep architectural knowledge of the platform and her ability to minimize custom development on some of the largest, most complex global deployments. After selling her first technology company, Ideas+, she worked consulting with large US and European partners on how to start and build best-in-class AX practices, including founding and managing practices for VSS and ePartners. She began her career in the healthcare industry after attending Adelphi University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Management & Finance as well as a Master of Business Administration in Hospital and Health Administration.

Matthew Pfohl

Executive Vice President

Matthew Pfohl is a serial entrepreneur with more than 20 years experience founding and managing companies ranging from adventure travel to technology. He began his career in sales and marketing in Europe and has held several top executive positions in major companies in the US. Matthew was instrumental in introducing an industry-first approach to the Microsoft channel, a hallmark of Sopris Systems’ focus on the services sector. As EVP at Sopris, Matthew focuses on working with clients to establish business cases and strategies that improve performance. Prior to Sopris Systems, he spent several years helping develop ERP practices for companies including American Express and ePartners. Matthew earned a Bachelor in Political Science at Rollins College and continues to work as a strategic advisor for a variety of companies worldwide.

Rod Cleary

Vice President, Service Delivery

Rod Cleary has 24 years of experience in information technology with a focus on leading project management and software development teams for Fortune 500 companies. He has spent much of his career at large insurance and financial companies including Liberty Mutual, Sallie Mae and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Indianapolis. Rod graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor in Computer Information Systems and obtained his Master’s Certificate in project management from George Washington University. He is also certified as a project manager (PMP) and in Governance of Enterprise IT as well as a Six Sigma Black Belt.

James Thomas

Director, CRM Services

James Thomas manages the fast-growing Sopris CRM practice that specializes in delivering Dynamics 365 solutions. He is an accomplished veteran in the services industry with more than 16 years of experience in strategically driving transformation to industry-specific business applications in the cloud. With a proven track record of thought-leadership and innovation, James offers a unique blend of ERP/CRM functional skills and executive-level presentation expertise. James is also a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in England & Wales and has earned accounting and finance degrees at the London School of Accountancy and South Thames College in London.

Lee Dufty

Director, ERP Practice

Lee Dufty is an experienced C-Level strategist who has developed, implemented and matured many strategic business changes in multiple organizations across the UK and the US. His strengths include process design, project management, workforce profiling, strategic IT road maps, and M&A integrations. Prior to joining Sopris, Lee was a director at Columbus Global where for 10 years he led teams that designed, deployed and supported Dynamics AX and Dynamics NAV solutions. Lee graduated from the University of Birmingham with a Manufacturing Engineering Degree and earned his MBA from the University of Wolverhampton, both located in the UK.

Mark Russo

Director, Engagement Management

Mark Russo is both a certified public accountant and certified project management professional with more than 25 years of experience as senior IT executive. Mark’s business acumen complements his ability to design, develop and implement IT services and structures across client organizations. He also provides expertise in communicating technological information in business terms. Prior to joining Sopris, Mark fulfilled senior management positions at SBS Group, Adecco, Lee Hecht Harrison and TexSys RD. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from Pace University and is certified in Managing Microsoft Dynamics Implementations.

Ford Wilkinson

Director, Information Technology

With more than 20 years of experience in the IT industry, including 10+ focusing on Microsoft Dynamics, Ford Wilkinson offers in-depth expertise in the architecture, deployment and integration of Dynamics solutions. His experience includes designing and building more than 100 Dynamics AX environments. Ford’s skill-set encompasses a wide range of Microsoft technologies—including Office 365, Azure, Windows, SQL, Hyper-V, SharePoint, Remote Desktop, System Center, Active Directory and Exchange. He is also certified by Microsoft as an IT Professional, Enterprise Windows Desktop Administrator, Solutions Associate, and Technology Specialist. Ford earned his Bachelor’s in Psychology from Rollins College in Florida.
